NLB Tuzlanska banka with its seat in Sarajevo, approved new loan to Microcredit Foundation Prizma in the amount of 3 milion BAM. This loan arrangement, sixth in the row, represents continuation of initially established cooperation that has begun since 2008. The above mentioned funds will be used for further extension of operations in order to strengthen Prizma's sovereign leadership position on a dynamic micro finance market in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

PRIZMA INCREASED EQUITY WITH UNDP CAPITALIZATION

UNDP (United Nation Development Programme) regional office has adopted decision, followed by successful implementation of the project, to perform loan fund capitalization to Prizma in amount of BAM 226.485. Capitalization letter clearly states that Prizma has surpassed all targeted performance standards, and that organization has been consistent in implementing the social aspects of its mission.

Prizma was engaged, in the year 2008, in Upper Drina Development Programme/Rural Finance as the only institution that has fulfilled criteria of highly demanded selection process. Project goals were defined through support of economically active poor clients on narrow rural region, with focus on women clients, simultaneously with reaching institutional operational self-sufficiency as well as portfolio quality requirements.

PRIZMA PRESENTED AT MFC CONFERENCE IN PRAGUE

Dr Kenan Crnkic CEO / General Manager of Prizma MCF and five members of the management team attended the MFC Conference, which was held this year in Prague from 18 to 20 May. At this prestigious conference, attended by a large number of invitees, representatives of investors and delegates from all over the world, Prizma was the only institution from the greater region selected to address the audience twice.

First, Prizma made a presentation to introduce its holistic approach to managing social performance, from both theoretical and applied aspect.

Then, the address of MCF Prizma’s CEO / General Manager Dr Kenan Crnkic, titled "Between Performance and Responsibility: Which Way for Microfinance?” delivered at the closing session, summarizing the conclusions of the Conference, was found particularly interesting. At the Conference, Prizma confirmed on its own example that it is possible to have good long-term financial results only if the institution remains committed to pursuing its social mission, key program goals and principles.

PRIZMA SIGNED NEW LOAN AGREEMENT WITH TRIPLE JUMP B.V. (The ASN Novib Fund)

PRIZMAPRIZMA signed a new loan agreement in amount of EUR 1.5 million with Triple Jump B.V. (ASN Novib Fund) investment fund based in Netherlands. As a continuation of successful cooperation, this fourth loan agreement is supported with increased loan amount.
Triple Jump is a microfinance investment manager, which offers professional fund management services to investors, and provide loans and equity investments to microfinance institutions (MFIs). Thanks to five different funds, Triple Jump currently has 150 investments with 135 microfinance institutions in 49 countries, for a total invested capital of USD 210 million. The ASN-Novib Fund was established in 1999 by ASN Bank and Oxfam Novib. By the end of 2009, it had grown to EUR 122.6 million, of which EUR 79.5 million had been invested in 54 MFIs in 24 countries, including 4 equity investments. The ASN-Novib Fund invests in financial institutions which provide credit to small-scale entrepreneurs. The fund supports experienced financial institutions with proven management capacities.

This loan will be used to support further development of PRIZMA's operations.

PRIZMA SIGNED NEW LOAN AGREEMENT WITH NLB TUZLANSKA BANK

PRIZMAPRIZMA closed a new loan agreement in amount of 3 million BAM with NLB Tuzlanska Bank from Bosnia and Herzegovina. As a result of strengthening successful cooperation, this third loan agreement is signed under more favorable terms and with increased initial loan amount.
With its 54 members on 17 markets, the NLB Group is recognized financial institution and stable partner offering numerous combinations of financial services for every type of business with individualized financial packages, which is in line with groups vision and commitment to build a long term partnership with client. NLB Group (with 12 banks, 11 leasing companies, 12 companies for international trade financing, 5 insurance companies, company in asset management and 14 other companies and almost 10.000 employees) is a financial institution with long tradition in Central and East Europe.

PRIZMAGeneral Manager of the MCF Prizma has delivered his first lectures at the post degree study - Master on Microcredit for Development - at the Autonomous University in Madrid, Spain. At the same time, he was nominated as a member to the Study Head Committee.

Due to its significance, the program has been supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Spain, Spanish International Agency for Cooperation AECI, as well as other national and international bodies.

The main objective of the Madrid Autonomous University, in cooperation with Foro Nantik Lum de Microfinanzas and Universidad Pontificia Comillas de Madrid, is to offer highly specialized programs for present and future practitioners in micro financial sector.

Apart from this, these institutions coordinate the research work for the European Microfinance Network from Paris, France, and advocate for the interests of the World Microcredit Summit from Washington, the United States of America.

In addition to his active engagement in his capacity as a senior teaching and research assistant at the School of Economics and Business, the University in Sarajevo, Mr. Crnkić, together with MCF Prizma continues to give a permanent contribution to the scientific-research work aiming at better understanding of the definition and academic promotion of the phenomenon of microfinance, both in Bosnia and Herzegovina and worldwide.

PRIZMA In first quarter of year 2010 MKF Prizma renewed and / or expanded its collaboration with following investors Oikocredit, Triodos, Developing World Markets / SNS Institutional Microfinance Fund II and Unicredit bank in total amount of nearly 20 millions KM. Beside existing investors, in association with Planis new credit arrangement was arranged and signed with new investors - Credit Suisse Microfinance Fund Management Company and Responsibility Global and Responsibility Global Microfinance Fond, with headquarter in Zurich, Switzerland. Those investments are a continuation of the ongoing successes of MCF PRIZMA, which are reflected in securing significant funds during the last year (over 50 mil KM), as well as in positioning itself as leading organization at the microfinance sector in BiH and demonstrating high level of stability and maturity in the year of world economic crisis. PRIZMA ACHIEVED THE BEST PERFORMANCES IN WHOLE SECTOR
2010

The microcrofinance sector in Federation of BiH reported a combined loss of around BAM 40 million in 2009, and it is in need of urgent consolidation, the entity Banking Agency has reported. After a high growth rate of around 100 per cent in 2007, microcredit organizations (MCO) in FBiH saw considerable deterioration in performance by the end of 2008, coinciding with the impact of the global financial crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Out of total 18 MCOs operating in FBiH, 11 reported losses. The biggest loss among them had LOK Sarajevo (BAM 12.7 million), and the highest profit had Prizma Sarajevo (around BAM 1 million). According to the Banking Agency, signs of deterioration were evident in the sector even before the onset of crisis, and reasons lie in the high growth rate, particularly among the mid-level organizations that did not adjust their capacities accordingly. This investment is a continuation of the ongoing successes of MCF Prizma, which reflected in the provision of significant funds in the course of the last year, as well as in positioning itself as leading organization at the microfinance market in Bosnia and Herzegovina and beyond. nlbGeneral Director of Microcredit Foundation PRIZMA, Mr. Kenan Crnkić, officially handed the donation - operating table for urgent interventions to the Clinic for Obstetrics and Gynecology of Clinical Center of University of Sarajevo. With this gesture, PRIZMA once again confirmed that there is hearing and understanding for humanitarian actions, as that was the case in supported causes so far, such as help in the treatment of children, projects to help children with special needs, grants to schools and various associations with a social mission, sponsorship of cultural and sporting events, grants to students, etc.

In the past 12 years Microcredit Foundation PRIZMA tried in its daily work to help a large number of women, while respecting their economic and social needs. In this light, this donation represents only one segment of PRIZMA's efforts to help and improve the quality of life for women in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Following cooperation with the most reputable microfinance investors who contribute to PRIZMA's development and expansion, PRIZMA established initial cooperation with FIMA Bank. This loan agreement represent Bank's first project in microfinance area. FIMA Bank is specialized investment bank. Although it has been the youngest bank in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in 2008, FIMA Bank recorded the highest growth rate in assets, over 200%, which makes it the fastest growing bank. This loan will be used to support PRIZMA's geographical expansion and development of its operations.

PRIZMA OPENED NEW BRANCH OFFICE

bijeljina novaPRIZMA opened new branch office in Bijeljina in February.Town is known as the center of Semberija region with population of 150.000 citizens. This region is famous for agriculture and farming. This office will cover Bijeljina and wider area of the north-eastern part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. PRIZMA signed a loan arrangement with SNS Institutional Microfinance Fund II and its investment managers Developing World MArkets from the United States of America, in the amount of EUR 2 millions in order to support PRIZMA's expansion and development of its operations. Developing World Markets raises investment capital from individuals and institutions, and uses it to provide affordable loans to partner nonprofits that create economic opportunities in underserved communities and markets.

PRIZMA RELLOCATED ITS HEADQUARTERS

PRIZMA ACHIEVED AN EXCELLENT RESULTS IN 2008
January 2009

Year 2008 has been the most successful business year for PRIZMA since its establishment. In the year 2008, PRIZMA managed to achieve historical results in terms of number of clients, portfolio, and net profit. PRIZMA also received the award for The most desirable employer in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and fundraise additional KM 33 millions. PRIZMA started 2008 with 29.300 clients, portfolio of KM 49 mil and 139 employees. By the end of 2008 PRIZMA achieved remarkable results having more than 61.000 clients, portfolio of KM 73 mil and 188 employees. This significant growth of 111% in number of clients, 49% in portfolio and 35% in number of employees has been achieved due to the innovation with new products, geographical expansion to the whole territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina with continuous support of existing and new investors as well as competent and dedicated wok of PRIZMA employees and management.

The summer action “Prizma’s loan with 5 stars” successfully completed in October. In the prize contest that was conducted under the trademark 555, Prizma is shared around 555 valuable prizes of which the highest and the most valuable is „Life with Prizma. “ The concept of awards is based on the Prizma's mission and vision; and presents the financing cost of living for one year for 500 KM per month. PRIZMA officially registered as a Foundation

On May 14th, Microcredit Organization Prizma received a Decision to register into the Microcredit Foundation Registry in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued from the Ministry of Justice of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Prizma signed a loan arrangement with EBRD in the amount of 4 million EUR in order to enable owners of micro and small enterprises to gain more access to finance to start up or expand their businesses. MKF PRIZMA celebrated 10 years of successful work

From 12 to 13. December MKF Prizma celebrated tenth anniversary of successful work and existence. This jubilee was celebrated trough a few manifestations that presented all the Prizma"s achievements gained in the ten-year period. These achievements are reflected in 30.000 active clients, active portfolio about KM50mil., and more then 140 employee that operate through the net of more than 40 business offices. At the festive part of the program, well know Bosnian-Herzegovinian singers took part among which we would like to emphasize a participation of a young and promising singer Mr. Nedžad Neno Murić, as well as a doyen of BH musical scene, Mr. Halid Bešlić. Prizma is one of the leading organizations in the global research program on impact of microfinance on poverty reduction worldwide.

Prizma donated funds to the children with special needs
October 2007

Prizma financially supported two projects related to assisting the children with special needs this month. It helped with finalization of construction work of the house for 10 children from the Institution placed in Pazaric, and Special Primary School in Zenica as a part of Hayat TV House project „Good People“. In such a way, Prizma demonstrated its social responsibility and readiness to take part in public interest in local communities where it operates.

Prizma invested over 18 mil KM during the summer campaign

Thanks to a well planned and implemented summer campaign as well as huge efforts taken by Prizma's employees, Prizma distributed around 8,000 loans in the amount of over 18 mil KM during the last three months. At the ordinary session of AMFI Board of Directors, Prizma's Excutive Director, Mr. Kenan Crnkić, has been elected for the president of this body. Prizma officially opened a new branch office in Tuzla on Monday April 23rd. The large number of guests and Prizma employees attended the festive opening. Government of the Kingdom of Spain has initially approved a 10 years loan to the Prizma in the amount of 4 million euro, with 5 years grace period. This credit arrangement is acting through ICO (Instituto de Crédito Oficial/Official Credit Institute of the Kingdom of Spain) as Government Financial Agent and as part of the SpanishMicro Finance Program for Bosnia and Herzegovina managed by AECI (Agencia Espanola de CooperaciónInternacionalis/Spanish International Cooperation Agency)
